Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques for home cooks on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also learned about Italy's food traditions and culture, as well as the landscape. Burrell was born living in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree and a Communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her style of cooking. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children who face problems. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world as she frequently goes on trips across the USA in the roles of speakers and mentors. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has often said that I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most to others.
